Choose one geographic theme
Group waterfalls, temples, beaches or food stops in the same part of Bali. Crossing from one side of the island to another can consume the day. Share priorities and let the driver identify which optional stop should be dropped first if traffic changes.

Leave earlier than feels reasonable
For anything north — Kintamani, the Munduk and Bedugul waterfalls, Lempuyang — the departure time decides the day. Pickup at 06:30 or 07:00 gets you to a quiet site in soft light. Pickup at 09:00 is the same drive with two to three extra hours added by the queues that build around Batubulan, Mengwi and the Ubud approach, arriving into hard sun and coach parties.
The return leg has its own trap. Coming back into Canggu, Seminyak or the Bukit between 17:00 and 19:30 is the worst traffic of the day, so either plan to be home before it or plan to eat somewhere on the way and let it thin out.

Add real stop duration
Parking is not the same as arrival. Include walking, queues, meals, changing clothes and the return to the vehicle. Ask about opening rules and entrance requirements, but verify important restrictions with the venue itself.

Set the commercial terms
Confirm total hours, overtime, fuel, parking, tolls and whether the driver waits at every stop. Save the route in chat, but allow safe adjustments on the day rather than pressuring the driver to recover delays by speeding.
