Search for Pasar Ikan Kedonganan
The market people call Jimbaran fish market is at Kedonganan, at the northern end of the bay. Use the full name Pasar Ikan Kedonganan for your map pin. Local warungs offer a simpler seafood meal than the larger beachfront restaurants; neither format guarantees the cheapest or freshest seafood on the island.

Find the grill before buying the fish
Ask a nearby warung whether it will cook seafood bought at the market. Confirm the cooking charge, whether it is per kilogram or per portion, and what is included. Some restaurants sell only their own seafood. Beachfront seating and outside-fish cooking are separate questions, so settle both before shopping.
Agree on a preparation you actually want: grilled fish, prawns or squid, with sauce on the side if preferred. Ask whether rice, vegetables, sambal and drinks are extra. If shellfish are part of the plan, make sure the kitchen accepts and knows how to prepare your selection.

Compare the complete bill
Write down seafood weight × price per kilogram, then add cooking, sides, drinks, transport and any parking fee. Watch the weighing and check whether you are paying before or after cleaning. For two people, one fish and a modest shared extra are easier to judge than an assortment chosen without a total.
Ask how the seafood has been kept cold and choose a stall with proper ice and active turnover. A market address and a seller's claim of ‘today's catch’ are not proof of handling or origin. Have the purchase cooked promptly; do not carry raw seafood through a long afternoon itinerary.

Choose lunch or sunset before you travel
For a straightforward food outing, buy and eat in one visit. For sunset, confirm the chosen warung's hours and outside-fish policy for that evening.
