September is usually in the drier season
Indonesia's tourism guidance places Bali's usual dry season around April to October. September is therefore a reasonable month to plan outdoor evenings, with a backup for rain. This is a seasonal pattern, not a forecast for your booking date, and it does not measure beach cleanliness.

Clean sand changes with conditions
Local research connects debris on western beaches, including Jimbaran and Kedonganan, with seasonal winds. Tides, recent weather and cleanup also affect what you find. A spotless afternoon is possible, but ‘September is always perfectly clean’ is too strong a promise for any guide.

Check the exact beach, not only the district
Look at recent visitor photos and ask your restaurant or accommodation for a photo from today. Specify the stretch near your planned entrance or table. Ask whether the image shows the waterline as well as the restaurant's cleaned seating area. Keep a nearby covered alternative so the evening still works if conditions disappoint.

Plan sunset and swimming separately
For a dinner-and-sunset outing, Jimbaran is a useful starting point. Arrive early enough to walk the actual stretch before committing to a table. Clear-looking water and clean sand are not a swimming safety assessment: follow local flags and lifeguard advice. For photos, agree on a weather decision time and a second location with your photographer.
