Decide which landscape you want
For a view centred on Mount Agung, start your search around Sidemen and east Bali. For the Batur caldera, look around Kintamani. These are different landscapes and different journeys. Save a reference photo and ask the hotel to identify the mountain and the exact place where the image was taken.

One concrete place to start: Wapa di Ume Sidemen
Wapa di Ume Sidemen describes a hillside setting with rice fields and Mount Agung as a backdrop. It belongs on a shortlist for this type of trip, but a resort-wide view does not mean every bedroom faces the volcano. Request photos from the precise room category and distinguish the room terrace from a restaurant or shared pool.

Send a view checklist before paying
Ask: Can the volcano be seen from the bed or only outside? Is this the actual room category in my booking? Is there construction in that direction? Can you send an unzoomed recent photo from the terrace? Also check stairs, luggage access and whether a driver can reach reception directly.
Cloud can hide the mountain even when the room is exactly as advertised. If the view is the reason for the stay, consider two nights rather than one tightly scheduled photo stop. Pick a property you would still enjoy on a cloudy morning and check the cancellation terms.

Budget for the whole stay
Compare the room total with breakfast, taxes, transfer and meals, rather than only the first nightly rate shown. Ask about nearby dinner options and the last convenient arrival time. A remote terrace can be wonderful, but repeated trips to another part of Bali can consume the time you came to spend there.
